Vegreville Medieval Faire

Last year, Rebecca and I spent a magical weekend adventuring around Alberta and attended the Bashaw Medieval Faire. This amazing event absolutely enchanted us, and we both wondered how awesome it might be to become a part of such an event. We could follow the Medieval Faire circuit, telling fantastical stories and selling beautifully crafted items. We could only dream. Fast forward one year to July 12-14th 2024 where I was the roving Storyteller!

The people running the Faire were so welcoming and the guests were so engaged and friendly. The market vendors were so helpful and grateful to have our entertaining presence on the grounds.

Last year, our biggest inspirations at Bashaw were The Merry Merchants, Lothar and Cindy. Lothar is a renowned entertainer, a mesmerizing magician, and a clever merchant, and I was fortunate enough to have him mentor me throughout the weekend!

Some of the weekend's highlights included the pair of excellent plauge doctors giving off spy vs spy vibes and staying in character all weekend, the numerous Dungeons & Dragons coplays, and the two tiny wizard girls trying to learn to fly and bringing me fairy trinkets and hugs!

To the curse of Strahd group I encountered on

Sunday, here are the pictures we took together and a guess at your character's ancestry and subclasses.

There were simply too many great moments to mention them all, but a final note of apology for all the pirates I cursed over the weekend (15!) but...If Tricorn ye wear, then Black Spot beware. Ye chose year fate! I cannot wait to do it all over again in Strathmore on August 23-25th! Huzzah!!
