Strathmore Medieval Faire

Monday August 6th, 2024

As I look back on yet another weekend spent roving a Medieval Faire as a Storyteller and faire announcer, I can't help but beam with gratitude! I get to live out my LARP fantasies and translate countless Dungeons and Dragons stories and myths into entertainment for the wonderful people that attend these events! And wonderful they are indeed. Kind, polite, genuine people, many in outstanding costumes and stunning armor or makeup!

I am grateful to all the market vendors who are always so welcoming and appreciative of the hard work that goes into making a great show work! Speaking of making a great show work, special thanks to the faire organizer Gail and her amazing crew, and to the other entertainers, Lothar the Master Magician, Scottish dancers Angus and Dolina, aerialist Alegra Brunt, and living statue Caleb Gordon for making me feel so welcome!

Special gratitude goes out to my wonderful, beautiful, ever supportive partner Rebecca, who was stuck in our hotel room all weekend, held hostage by a grief sick puppy who lost his buddy Spooky last weekend. He wasn't the only one feeling the loss of our Special little "spicy" Pomeranian/ Chihuahua this weekend. Rebecca and I are both struggling with his loss and Strathmore was a welcome distraction. Highlights of the weekend included the full sized owlbear costume

, a Dark pact offered by an Undead Savior (no thanks, I like my skin) and a poisonous Mushroom fairy costume that our friend Nina made herself!!

Rebecca and I are both sad she didn't get to debut her femme mountain dwarf cosplay this weekend! Stay tuned for that!
